“Compelling, satisfying twists that won’t let go with a wicked diabolical plot of suspense!”

Book review: The Last Mrs. Parrish
The Book Blurb

Amber Patterson is fed up. She’s tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more – a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted.
To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne – a socialite and philanthropist – and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale.
Amber’s envy could eat her alive…if she didn’t have a plan. Amber uses Daphne’s compassion and caring to insinuate herself into the family’s life – the first step in a meticulous scheme to undermine her. Before long, Amber is Daphne’s closest confidante, traveling to Europe with the Parrishes and their lovely young daughters, and growing closer to Jackson. But a skeleton from her past may undermine everything that Amber has worked towards, and if it is discovered, her well-laid plan may fall to pieces.
With shocking turns and dark secrets that will keep you guessing until the very end, The Last Mrs. Parrish is a fresh, juicy, and utterly addictive thriller from a diabolically imaginative talent.
My Review
This plausible, haunting, and an unexpected thriller kept me up way past my bedtime. The first few chapters flowed nicely, and I breezed through them with ease; but then I struggled to cope with Amber’s terrifyingly evil and manipulative ways, and she just goes on and on about how she is more deserving than Daphne to have a life of privilege and the rich husband.
“Some people have everything; some people get everything they deserve.”
But if you can stomach Amber’s rhetoric, rude thoughts and evil spirit, and make it to chapter 30; I promise you will be ultimately and intriguingly surprised. Wow!
Amber is on a mission to destroy a life so her life can have meaning, but she may have bit off more than she can chew. This book is indeed manipulative, surprising, and fresh. You won’t want to miss anything. I am so glad I kept going and hung on to every moment because (let me tell you) you will need to remember. Although some of the beginning chapters seem overdone and almost made me give up, those chapters were vital and necessary.
This plot unfolds like no other and puts a whole new meaning on the old phrase, “…on the outside looking in,” because you never know what truly hides behind a couple’s façade. What a great read and I stayed up all night until I finished the book. Twists I didn’t expect and an ending I didn’t see coming.
